Lotus Exige V6 Cup Proving its Winning Form is no Fluke in Lotus Cup Series

Monday, April 22, 2013 - 15:30
As the Lotus Cup series gets underway around the globe this month, already a star is on the rise.

Jon Walker wins Snetterton April 2013

Against stiff competition from a variety of legendary Lotus cars, including 2-11, 340R, Exige S, and Exige Cup, the new V6 has proven that it has the track driving and handling capabilities to back up the stunning V6 powertrain; by winning consecutive Cup races, it becomes the benchmark for Lotus Cars on track.

The new Lotus Exige Cup V6 has already stormed to victory in the Lotus Cup UK inaugural race at Snetterton at the beginning of April and once again last weekend during the Lotus Cup Europe opener at the Nurburgring. The Exige Cup V6 is bred solely for racing, remaining true to Lotus genealogy; and is distinctly recognisable as offspring of the award-winning Exige S.

Powered by a 3.5 litre supercharged V6 engine driving through a 6-speed sequential gearbox, performance is impressive, with the Exige V6 Cup delivering a scorching 100km/hr (60mph) in 3.8seconds. That’s around 0.5secs/km quicker than the ever-popular Exige S. Lotus is about lightness, and with the V6 cup weighs at a featherlike, 1080kg.

With a great exterior, the car is visually compelling with bespoke livery courtesy of the skilled team at Lotus Design. Mouth wateringly muscular and ready to battle on track, it's little wonder this car making waves in the Lotus Cup enthusiast series.
