Lotus Racing has joined forces with Team Motopark to take on the highly competitive ATS Formel 3 Cup.

The four car team will race under this historic Lotus name.

The team is headed by Timo Rumpfkeil, himself a former single-seater and GT driver. “We have discovered and taught a lot of young talented drivers in the past, and we have every intention of carrying on that tradition in the future with Lotus.”

Giving talented drivers their big break  has been key to the success of both Rumpfkeil and Lotus. After all, Lotus hit its stride when Colin Chapman spotted, by chance, a young man called Jim Clark.

As part of the new working partnership with Lotus, the team will benefit from further support from Lotus’ team of expert and world-renowned industry-leading engineers.

The team will also field no less than six cars in the ADAC Formula Masters.

THE CAR:

Designed by Dallara, the single-seater weighs in at just 550kg including the driver and packs a sequential 6-speed ‘box and a 4-cylinder Volkswagen engine.
