INTRODUCTION
by Adrienn Bende (Managing Director, Lotus Ladies Cup)
The Lotus Ladies Cup - a championship specifically held for women drivers - was launched for the first time in Hungary in the spring of 2011.
The Lotus factory manufactured 16 1.6 litre, 138 HO Lotus Elises, with Yokohama AD07 tyres, specifically for this purpose. The cars also have special safety features built in.
Entrants took part in a series of gruelling training sessions under the guidance of highly experienced instructors at the demanding Hungaroring circuit.
Eager anticipation preceded the first round of the championship at the Hungaroring. Each round is 30 minutes and is 1 lap in length.
The Lotus Ladies Cup is part of the Hungarian Touring Car Championship series, and is back now in 2013 for its third year.
