The Lotus Evora S Sports Racer is intended to provide a more concentrated driving package for fans of the 2+2 practical sportscar. Its lightweight chassis and the composite body provide a surprising amount of cockpit space, despite compact exterior dimensions. The Evora S Sports Racer exudes the Lotus spirit of lightness and driving purity to perfection, with a more specific road-going and luxurious flavour. Boasting 345bhp (350PS), its lightweight construction (1,437kgs manual; 1,442kgs automatic) enables supercar performance, combined with an aerodynamic package that maintains zero lift but increases downforce, which simply enhances its on road performance potential.

Performance

With a 3.5-litre, supercharged, 24-valve V6 engine, power is set at an excellent 345bhp (350PS), allied to a punchy 295lbs ft (400Nm) of torque. Select the first of the Sport Racer’s six, close-ratio, sequential gears and the acceleration from a standing start is brisk to say the least. Equally exciting is its stopping power from the four-pot front and rear, AP fast road brakes set-up, which can be experienced from within the Evora’s spacious, leather-lined cockpit. It provides ample proof that Lotus makes sportscar ownership not only well-focused but also most entertaining. An automatic option is available.

Torsion

Underpinning every Evora S Sport Racer is an efficient, structurally rigid and low weight extruded and bonded chassis-tub. Based on more than 60 years of Lotus racing and sportscar developments, its torsional rigidity is outstanding. It allows the high-performance gas dampers to work efficiently, to provide leech-like grip, a crisply precise turn-in to bends and a dynamic balance that is almost extraordinary.

Aerodynamics

The Evora S Sports Racer makes no pretence about its race-bred potential. It is attractive, well designed, yet purposefully aerodynamic, while retaining a classically elegant stance. From the shapely front air-dam to its purposeful bootlid spoiler, it is every inch the characterful sportscar. Yet, because it is Lotus, the Evora S Sports Racer has been engineered to provide ‘zero-lift’, although the mild aero package increases downforce, to make even more efficient use of its inherent on road balance.

Evora Automatic Transmission Option

The six-speed automatic transmission system developed by Lotus is an option on the Evora SR. In one way, the automatic is Evora motoring at it’s purest. It adapts to your driving style, ensuring the car is in exactly the right gear at the right moment to suit every situation. You steer, accelerate and brake as normal; the automatic shift takes care of the rest. When you want more control a pair of paddle shifts sit behind the steering wheel - flip right to change up, left to change down. And to avoid sudden engine braking, the automatic transmission induces ultra-quick throttle blipping during downshifts to harmonise engine and gearbox speeds.
