The Lotus on Track Racing Drivers Club pre-season test day and awards dinner at Brands Hatch on Saturday 2 March gave competitors a chance to get ready for the opening races at Snetterton on 6-7 April and celebrate last year’s achievements.
The day gave drivers a chance to acclimatise to the new Avon Tyres and despite wintery temperatures initial feedback was extremely positive. The event on the Indy circuit was well attended, and included an appearance from the new Exige V6 Cup that will be eligible for Lotus Cup UK and Europe this season. Martin Donnelly took the wheel, before compering the UK awards dinner alongside LoTRDC’s Richard Short later in the evening.
Once the dinner and awards were over Donnelly was joined by old friend Perry McCarthy and the pair entertained the diners with racing stories, followed by a Q&A session.
