REQUEST TO TERMINATE ACCESS TO CONNECTED VEHICLE SERVICES

IN COMPLIANCE WITH CALIFORNIA SENATE BILL 1394

This version is effective from: July 01 2025

1. YOUR RIGHT TO PRIVACY AND VEHICLE CONTROL
Under California law (SB 1394), if you are a current driver or legal possessor of a Lotus vehicle, you have the right to request that another person’s access to your vehicle’s connected services be terminated, particularly in circumstances involving:
• Domestic violence
• Stalking or harassment
• Coercive control or misuse of technology
• Other serious safety concerns

This includes access to services such as:

• Vehicle location tracking
• Remote locking/unlocking
• Remote engine start
• Cabin climate control
• Any other feature controllable via connected systems

2. Who Can Submit a Request
You are eligible to submit a request if you:
• Are the registered owner or lessee of a Lotus vehicle; or
• Have been granted exclusive control or lawful possession of the vehicle via:
o A court order, such as a restraining order or dissolution decree
o A lease, title, or registration document

3. What You’ll Need
To submit a request, please provide:
1. Your name and contact information
2. The vehicle’s VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)
3. A copy of one or more of the following:
o Vehicle title or lease agreement
o Court order awarding exclusive use
o Domestic violence restraining order
o Other legal documentation of control

4. What Happens Next
Upon receipt of a complete request:
• Lotus will terminate the other party’s access within 2 business days, as required by law
• You will receive:
o An email confirmation of your request
o Instructions to create a new secure account, if applicable
o Follow-up information on how to manage connected services
If your request is incomplete, we will contact you within one business day to help you complete the process.

5. Support Provided by Trusted Partners
Some connected services and account-related functions may be supported by authorized third-party vendors under contract with Lotus. These vendors:
• Adhere to the same privacy, security, and legal obligations as Lotus
• Are prohibited from disclosing your identity to the removed party
• Are bound by confidentiality and data protection agreements
Your information will only be shared with these vendors as necessary to fulfil your request.

6. Your Privacy and Safety
• No fees will be charged for submitting or processing your request
• The removed party will not be notified of your identity unless required by law
• All requests are handled by trained, trauma-informed professionals
• Your request and documents will be stored securely for a minimum of three (3) years, consistent with our legal obligations under California Civil Code § 1798.91.6

While we will take all steps required by law to revoke connected services access, Lotus cannot guarantee that the removed party will not attempt to re-access the vehicle via unauthorized means. We recommend taking additional precautions, including securing physical keys and updating digital credentials.

7.  Law Enforcement and Emergency Access
Terminating access under this process does not interfere with authorized law enforcement access to vehicle data where permitted by law, including in emergency or criminal investigation scenarios.

8.  In-Vehicle Notifications
As required by SB 1394:
• Beginning January 1, 2028, all newly manufactured Lotus vehicles will include in-vehicle alerts indicating when connected services are accessed remotely.
• For eligible vehicles manufactured prior to this date, Lotus will implement these features via over-the-air (OTA) updates by July 1, 2026, where technically feasible.

9.  Emergency Resources and Support
